Beginning as an intrepreneurial venture, the Keen application was conceptualized as a task management system tailored for retail chains.

By acknowledging the challenges faced by retailers concerning store compliance, communication, and accountability, Keen aimed to revolutionize retail operations. The vision was to enhance collaboration between headquarters, stores, and vendors, streamlining operations and promoting efficiency in the retail sphere.

Among the various software options available, Keen distinguished itself by integrating a personalized Getting Things Done methodology seamlessly within a comprehensive organizational framework. This approach stood out due to its balanced focus on individual task management and a broader organizational perspective. It empowered the head office to efficiently assign and monitor tasks in bulk, maintain accessibility to related contacts and files for all stakeholders, and retrieve comprehensive historical logs related to tasks, teams, and the organization.

The project commenced as a store design tool, envisioned to be a user-friendly and collaborative WebGL application. I was responsible for designing the tool, creating 3D assets, crafting the UI, and building it using Unity, collaborating closely with the immensely skilled developer, Herb Chow. This collaborative effort took shape over the span of a few weeks, resulting in an initial version.

Our primary objective was to provide a platform facilitating collaboration between retailers and vendors for store redesigns and planogramming initiatives. Following an in-depth research phase and incorporating feedback from retail operators and vendors, we underwent a strategic pivot.

The project transitioned into an operational tool catering to day-to-day activities. The core focus shifted towards establishing accountability and compliance between headquarters and retail stores, as demonstrated in the featured video.
